inSight Sustainability is a Jackson, WY based company focused on helping organizations and businesses identify and achieve their sustainability goals. InSight helps guide clients from planting the seeds of sustainability to growing a fully integrated and robust sustainability program. InSight specializes in sustainable business planning, Zero Waste planning and implementation, preparation for the USZWBC Zero Waste Business Facility Certification, and TripAdvisor GreenLeaders recognition program, environmentally preferred purchasing, and upstream supply chain optimization with an emphasis on local and regional food economies.

scottbiopicScott Steen has cultivated a lifelong passion for and interest in how people interact with the natural world. He is the Founder and Principal of inSight Sustainability, LLC, with the goal of creating a sustainable future for Jackson Hole and beyond.

inSight Sustainability has grown organically from the demand of business owners seeking sustainability-based strategic planning and guidance. In addition to consulting with local restaurants and lodging properties in the Jackson area through the Jackson Hole & Yellowstone Sustainable Destinations Program, inSight Sustainability works with a Jackson-born ski clothing company and Camp Dudley in Westport, NY (where Scott formerly ran the outdoor and sustainability programs). Scott is currently assisting Teton County in drafting the first phase of the Teton County Road to Zero Waste Plan (R2ZW Plan). He also serves as the President of Slow Food in the Tetons and is on the Teton County Integrated Solid Waste & Recycling Advisory Board, where he leads the Zero Waste Committee.

Originally from Evergreen, CO, Scott has BA in Environmental Science from Willamette University and is a graduate of the University of Colorado at Boulder’s Sustainable Practices Program. He is also a certified US Zero Waste Business Associate through the US Zero Waste Business Council. After spending his first winter in Jackson in 1999, he has considered its community and natural wonder home since 2002.
